Sock-a-holic Katie came down and played Keggle with Jacki and I yesterday. That’s always a lot of fun. We dyed up a ton of yarn and fiber. I spent this morning washing it all out. I wash and Jacki spins and hangs. A system, we has it.

We decided to do a big dinner today. Ok Jacki thought of it, but I agreed it was good idea. So the Irish St. Patty’s day dinner was organized. Beer bread from this recipe is really good. I used Brooklyn Brewery’s Black Chocolate Stout instead of Guinness. Mostly just because that’s what I had. Check it….

The rest of the meal is corned beef, cabbage, and baked potato. Really freaking good meal and really not all that hard to make.

We didn’t really have anything Irish to drink so we went with the New Glarus Wisconsin Belgian Red. It went really well with the meal.

Oh and the dogs had a good time in the yard while Katie was here. They chewed and chewed on their sticks.

Till next time. Hopefully it won’t be months before I’m motivated to post again :)

We finally got Andy out to play with the guns. We went out to Carly‘s grandmothers to kill us some cans and plastic bottles. Oddly enough there was some dude (Bill I think) already out there that no one seemed to know. He had some serious guns and gear. High power rifles and some thing that measures how fast the bullet is going. So we had a lot of fun blowing the crap out of stuff.

When we got home another of Jacki’s ebay purchases was here. It’s a Time-O-Lite model M-72 Automatic Re-Set timer. I don’t really have any normal pictures of it, but I got some good glowing pictures.

So this post is going to have a lot of pictures even for me. I’m pretty much going to give the wordy part first with a couple pictures and then a bunch more pictures under the fold. Everyone with me so far? Hey get your head off the fucking desk! Here we go…

So Jacki and I started Saturday out by going to the antique mall and flea market here in town. Jacki talks more about it here. We had a good time doing that as usual. I got the most badass lamp evah! I’m going to have to replace the guts to it, but just check out the shade and imagine this hanging over my keggerator.

Then we met up with Andy and Carly again. No one really had any big plans in mind, so we kinda talked about what to do and Andy suggested going to a weird little ghost town called Santoy or San Toy depending on which map you look on. Seemed like as good a plan as any, so we camered up and climbed into Andy’s much roomier than it looked Focus. So Carly drove a fairly unruly bunch down to the ghost town with only minor detours for getting lost and people yelling to stop for bathrooms or to take pictures. BTW Carly you do a great job driving. I’m a horrible passenger since I almost always drive everywhere and I didn’t panic once :) Andy, Carly and Jacki hangin out at the stop sign…

After that we drove up a big hill to the Chapel Hill Cemetery. Cool little cemetery with a really creepy old house across the street from it. By this time it was getting cold and everyone needed to get home to feed their dogs so we headed on home. We went to our respective houses and took care of our dogs then met back up at the new Indian/Greek restaurant. Had a good dinner and called it a night. Tired but very happy at the end of the day.

Sunday Jacki and I went running to a couple of HUGE antique stores in Columbus and I picked up some more beer stuff and Jacki got…You’ll never guess….more camera stuff :) The Polaroid Land Camera she got is particularly smokin’. Check the link to her post above for that as well.

Ok come under the fold if you want to hear me babble more and see more pictures….

This post is a bit overdue, but I haven’t felt like blogging and damn it it’s not a job so I don’t have to. :) Anyway, Jacki and I were a Kroger get some baking supplies and while looking over the yeast selection were accosted by another couple infinitely more knowledgeable about baking than us. This was a interesting situation for us since we are normally not very social people. It was a fun talk and we actually (gasp) like the people. They ended up talking to some other friends of theirs that showed up and Jacki and I had a quick conference. We decided that I should give them one of my Moo cards with the invitation to hang out some time. This was a couple weeks ago I guess.

So we conversed via email and blog and ended up going over to their house for dinner on Sunday. We seem to be referring to them as Bread Friends :) Anyhow, they are Andy and Carly and they rock. We had a great time hanging out with them. Hopefully with my stupid schedule and them being busy we will actually be able to see them again one day….

On to the Cemetery pics. This is a panoramic that I cobbled together out of about 6 pictures.

And here are a few more. All are HDR and tonemapped…..

Also one giant hop rhizome. I found this on top of the dirt under a bunch of leaves when I was cleaning up around the hop mounds so I could fertilize. I went ahead and planted it at the edge of the woods so maybe I’ll get an extra plant this year.
